Paris Snapshots

I love Paris. I'm aware I'm basic and I don't care.
I'm feeling nostalgic for travel (it seems like 2022 is the nearest opportunity out of the UK), so I thought I'd look back on a few favourite photos from a trip to Paris a couple of years ago, when my husband ran the marathon and I went on a solo adventure to the Musée Rodin, Musée D'Orsay and snapped a photo of Notre Dame quite literally hours before the famous fire that destroyed the pictured spire.

If you haven't been to one of the famous patisseries of Paris (and I've definitely not been to them all), I recommend Angelina for it's Chocolat Chaud, which is the thickest, deepest hot chocolate I've experienced in France. So thick it comes with a jug of water to cleanse your palate! The macarons are also lovely, but they are also available at other outlets such as Maison Ladurée or Pierre Hermé.
On a bookish note, I love everything from Antoine Laurain. Laurain's books are whimsical and usually involve a bit of magical realism. This one involved a man finding the French President's hat in restaurant, taking it, and wearing it giving him special powers.

Would I even be a book blogger if I hadn't spent some time wandering in Shakespeare & Co? This is an icon of Paris, lovely for a browse (though come early, it gets very very crowded), and there is even a resident snoozing cat upstairs.

This lovely novel by Nina George is marketed and styled as a romance but it is actually a novel about grief, friendship, love and finding yourself. It also features a book pharmacy on a boat, which is just a wonderful idea.

Until next time, Paris.
All photos my own.
